Yunnan is critical for sustained population and diversity conservation of Meconopsis genus. Moreover, the project will be designed in such a way that the research will contribute to generating the basic biogeographic and systematic evidences of the Meconopsis genus. Data collected from and the methodology in this research can also serve as alternatives or potential means for similar studies on other alpine and sub-alpine plant groups.

In summary, the main objectives of this project are:

4) To do cultivation in situ and ex situ versus collection in the wild in terms of introducing wild seedling, seeding breeding and asexual reproduction technology.
