The PODEC project will build upon on previous and on-going project as well as new initiatives related to land use and land cover changes in MMSEA, which including "Mapping Resource Tenure in China, Laos and Thailand" supported by Rockefeller Brother Fund, "Policy, Population and Property Rights and LUCC in Lancang Basin" supported by the Ford Foundation, "Biodiversity Threats Analysis" supported by Yunnan Government and the Nature Conservancy, "Collaboration on Watershed Dynamics, Agroforestry Livelihoods and Governance in Yunnan" supported by the Ford Foundation, "People and Resource Dynamics in Mountain Watershed in Hindu-Kush Himalayan Reion" supported jointly by SDC, IDRC and ICIMOD, "Regional Policy Support Initiative" implemented by World Resource Institute, "Enhancing the Livelihoods of Agro-pastoralists in NW Yunnan" possibly supported by IDRC, "Cultural Based Resource Management in NW Yunnan" supported by ICCO (Dutch), and relevant ICRAF and EWC projects in Laos, Vietnam and Thailand.
